The Process

 

The wall painting process or "murals" starts with a consultation getting a general feel for what the client wants. Shirley will then produce a pencil sketch design, which will be generally emailed to the client along with an estimate for cost. Once both parties are in agreement a date will be set that normally entails an uninterrupted sequence of work days.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Shirley will then use the original sketch, grided up, to roughly mark out the mural area, she does not, in the main use overhead projection or similar methods as the wall space often includes irregular architecture.

 

  

 

Once the layout is sketched the mural can then evolve freely to reflect it's surroundings. The examples shown above, compared to their final images (see portfolio) are quite tight or similar, however many of Shirley's murals do evolve wonderfully from the original
