The style of a mural and the chosen matter of a mural will have a large bearing on the amount of detail in the image. This will obviously effect the time necessary for completion.
To reflect this there is a flexible price range;
£120 per sq m for the simpler designs and up to £150 per sq m for the more intricate designs. These prices include vat, material costs but not travel or major equipment hire.
As I'm sure the reader will be aware, mural painting is a completely different technique to canvas paintings, illustrations and so on. The same price criteria can not be used for other forms of art.
Pricing Other Art
Prop building is based on £150 per day including basic material costs i.e. paint/sealants and vat. It excludes major materials & equipment hire. Examples maybe telegraph poles, scaffolding, couriers or travel.
The props for the Le Rotter project (see the "PROP" section) came to £950. The end cost after couriering to London, total £1010.
Illustrative work or computer generated work is also priced per day @ £150. The illustrations for British Oxygen came to £500. The images were emailed.
